Yes! Plus, we’ve built a web app for less tech-savvy members in your group. Our YouTube channel has a playlist of tutorials. We’re available to help whenever you need it.
-
Right now everything on the Thread app and our books (Encounter and The Place of Prayer) are available in English, French, and Spanish with one click. We also provide Spanish and French Bible translations. (Sometimes it takes a little while for our translators to catch up - but we are committed to providing good translations.)
We have the ability to add more languages as needed as long as we are given help with translating. Reach out if you would like to see your language in Thread.
-
Individuals can subscribe to full access (Premium) on the Thread app for $4.99/month in the App Store or Google Play.
Ministries in the developed world who sign up get full access to the app for all of their members plus full access to the Thread Studio. Because our hope is to impact church culture, ministries get all of this - more than premium individuals - for much less: $1.99/member/month.
Our parent organization, CHORD, also works with a select number of partner churches who receive full access to Thread as part of their ministry development. See CHORD.org for details.
We are a true non-profit. Reach out if you would like to support our mission.

This is an important question. We provide two resources:
Encounter: This 30 day devotional book helps ready and unite the hearts of your church by guiding each member to have their own personal retreat (or Encounter) with God. Most churches who begin using Thread start with Encounter.
Encounter is discounted for churches who are beginning Thread.
Starting Point, the first Thread Sermon Series has a full Launch Guide that helps you get the church set up for success 4 weeks before the first sermon with slides, videos, and helpful hints.

We are creating non-denominational, Christian content that we hope will be impactful for Christians from many traditions. We are influenced by and respect many faith-traditions. We are grateful to be rooted in the International Churches of Christ which branches from the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement.

Currently we have churches as small as 20 members and as large as 2,000 members in multi-site configurations who are effectively using, and loving Thread.
-
First of all, people love podcasts. And members of your church are probably already listening to a lot of faith content. That being said, many people will love the Thread Podcast and a few might not - just like any consumable media. That’s okay! We’ve taken a firehose approach to Thread resources. There are daily devotionals, family devotionals and small group discussions. There’s sure to be at least one helpful resource for each person in your ministry to discover.
-
The resources on Thread follow a similar pattern, but they also follow the rhythm of Scripture. So, each series is a little different than the one before it.
Like anything, constant promotion is a key to success. The more you use Thread for your own sermon series and resources, the more the church will see this as a lasting resource.
-
Honestly, no. But Thread is so much more than a church app. We provide great content that gives people a reason to keep coming back. Plus, you can add your own resources to create a hub for your church right where most of your members already spend a lot of their time - on their phones.

Nope! But we do provide sermon starters to spark ideas.
Most churches preach a Thread series 30 out of 52 weeks in a year. This leaves plenty of room to address congregational needs while working your way through God’s story along with Thread.
-
Yes! Ultimately, we want to change the way we are the church. So, for non-Thread sermon series you (and your team) can create daily devotionals, family devotionals and YouTube videos right in the My Community section of the app. Think of Thread like training wheels for providing great content on your own someday.
Churches also use this space on the app to distribute their Bible Study series and weekly announcements
-
In the Thread Studio you literally keep the church on the same page by selecting the week that you are on (for either Thread or My Community). When people in your church open the app, they all open to the page you’ve selected.
We also provide weekly congregational email templates and printable kids’ church coloring sheets and family devotionals.

Yes! With the Thread Library churches can share what they’ve created with one another, edit them for their own needs, and edify their groups.
Thread Kids
-
When ministries are overwhelmed the children’s ministry usually gets put on the backburner, even though we desire to have the heart of Jesus towards children.
Thread Kids puts children, parents, and the church on the same page, changing the drive home from church and the rest of the week.
Thread Kids is a full curriculum that emphasizes telling the story and then retelling the story in a creative and memorable way. The curriculum is anti-technology on purpose and easy to use. All craft supplies are linked to an Amazon list.
Check out the full curriculum here. As with all Thread resources, you can adapt it to meet your church's needs.
-
This is very important! Good children’s ministry thrives on consistency.
The goal of Thread is to change ministry culture. So our hope is that even when your group is not in a Thread series, you’d still have the children learn about the same subject as the adults.
To help make this happen, we’ve included a Thread Kids Lesson Builder in the Studio that helps you (staff or lay leaders) quickly create Thread Kids lessons that look and feel like Thread. It’s kind of magical!

Someone in your leadership needs to “own” Thread. We suggest a role called “Thread Director” that officially takes up 25-50% of someone’s ministry time. This person (paid or non-paid depending on ministry size) will be the point person who reads each week’s materials and directs the leadership and the church about how best to implement Thread, what notifications to send out, and what’s coming up.
